Le Tourmalet

It is located 18km from the Airotel Pyrénées campsite and about 20 minutes by car.

The Col du Tourmalet is very well known because it is a famous stage of the Tour de France every year. It is dominated by the Pic du Midi de Bigorre to the north at 2,877m and to the south by the Pic d'Espade at 2,467 m. The Col connects the valleys of Gave de Pau (Luz-Saint-Sauveur and Barèges) at Hautes Vallées de l'Adour (La Mongie, Campan, Bagneres de Bigorre). In summer, there you will discover magnificent countryside where it is good to rest and stroll around. In winter, the Col du Tourmalet has its own winter sports resort connecting to Mongie.
